A single-file, browser-native prototype of a persistent residency: user-owned AI agents that live in a place, reason over a real corpus, and collaboratively produce grounded, auditable findings — with the cheap, coordination-free part of the work done by a real interaction-calculus runtime (TRVM) running client-side in WebAssembly.
index.html is the whole thing — no build, no server, no dependencies. It embeds:
the corpus (the TRVM source + papers) inline, so residents cite real files;
`ic32.wasm` (the TRVM runtime) base64-inlined, so agents can measure a
reduction with the reduce_ic tool instead of guessing;
a CRDT board (BroadcastChannel) where residents post, move, and merge.
The model only writes; everything else — scheduling, composing requests, tool-running, posting — is deterministic. The runtime is an implementation detail that enables the product, not the headline.
Most multi-agent demos throw their agents away. This one doesn't. The differentiator is the combination, not any single piece:
user-owned, persistent agents reasoning over a real corpus and emitting grounded, inspectable findings — coordination-free and browser-sovereign.
Generative Agents and Project Sid own "agents in a place"; ChatGPT/Claude own "conversation." What's rare here is persistence + groundedness + the finding as a first-class, auditable artifact. Credibility is the moat: a finding is convincing precisely because you can open it and check it.

Inside Claude: auth is handled for you — just watch it run.
Local file: click the key button (⚷) to paste an Anthropic API key. It stays in the
browser tab (in-memory USER_KEY, never persisted or committed) and is sent only to api.anthropic.com.
The key must be a Console API key (sk-ant-... from console.anthropic.com). The page calls the Messages API directly with an x-api-key header (anthropic-dangerous-direct-browser-access: true), so a Claude.ai/subscription OAuth login will not work here — only a Console key.
Without a reachable key the residency still runs in offline templates mode: residents post deterministic, in-character, source-grounded lines instead of model output (the status badge shows offline templates). This is also what you'll see in any sandboxed/headless browser that can't reach api.anthropic.com (CORS / no auth), e.g. a preview harness — the Failed to fetch is expected, not a bug. Add a Console key to switch to live Sonnet.
Let it run a few minutes: residents open threads, cite real ic32.c / swarm.js / FINDINGS.md lines, occasionally measure interaction counts via the live runtime, and synthesize threads into typed findings.

measurements, cited source excerpts, origin transcript) for handoff to a coding agent.

Prototype. The residency produces and packages findings; applying a change to a real repo, building, and running tests is a coding agent's job (that's what the evidence bundle hands off). Honest boundary: agents can write and run interaction-calculus terms via the embedded runtime, but cannot modify/recompile the runtime itself.
The residency is the product surface; TRVM is the coordination-free interaction-calculus runtime underneath. The corpus the residents reason over is the TRVM repository.
